Our mission is to strengthen the spirit, mind, and body of all our youth participants. We’re committed to providing a healthy and safe environment where confidence in their athletic abilities can soar. Our goal is to be a memorable part of their journey, equipping them with leadership skills and basketball expertise that will serve them for life.
At Elite Academy, we are passionate about the development of youth through basketball. Founded by Toloane Toloane, a former U18 National Team player with nearly two decades of experience in basketball development, our academy is dedicated to shaping the future of basketball in Botswana.
Toloane’s journey began in 2002 as a standout player at GSS, earning recognition as the best player in the school for consecutive years. With hands-on training from renowned coach Tom Maltby and subsequent coaching experience at Tlokweng Dayspring School and Matlala JSS, Toloane’s expertise and dedication are unrivaled.
As an accredited FIBA Level 1 Coach in Botswana, Toloane has honed his coaching skills through clinics and referee training. His commitment to youth development extends to his role as the U16 National Botswana Team manager for the AUSC Games.
In 2020, Toloane opened Elite Academy, a year-round basketball program catering to kids aged 5 to 17. We also provide training opportunities for unemployed youth to become coaches, ensuring the growth of the sport at every level.
Elite Academy is a thriving hub of basketball excellence in Botswana. Founded with a deep passion for the sport, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of basketball stars and leaders.
