Elite Academy is a dynamic hub of basketball development, dedicated to empowering the youth of Botswana through the game of basketball. Founded by the accomplished Toloane Toloane, a former U18 National Team player with nearly two decades of basketball expertise, our academy is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the sport.
Elite Academy offers comprehensive training programs covering all facets of the game, from dribbling and shooting techniques to defensive strategies and teamwork dynamics. Our experienced coaching staff is dedicated to nurturing talent while instilling the values of sportsmanship and discipline. Beyond basketball, we prioritize character development, equipping our players with life skills for success in any endeavor.
Toloane Toloane, the founder of Elite Youth Basketball League, is a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of basketball development experience. His journey in basketball started as a U18 National Team player in 2002. Toloane has since enjoyed a successful career, including being recognized as the best player in his school in 2001 and 2002. He received hands-on training in basketball development from renowned coach Tom Maltby and has worked as a basketball coach, PE instructor, and teacher at various institutions.
Toloane is an accredited FIBA Level 1 Coach in Botswana and has participated in numerous coaches and referee clinics. He also served as a physical trainer in Central America. His passion for the sport led him to open the Elite Academy in 2020, where he introduced and developed basketball in children aged 5 to 17. The academy also provides training opportunities for unemployed and out-of-school youth to become youth coaches.
